Missions School

After almost 3 years of praying and planning, we will be starting a missions school, "Id Pues" (Go Therefore), in September. The training program will last 2-3 months and will include short and long-term missions outreaches. We will be using our current church property for the campus, and we need to fully supply and furnish the buildings (desks, whiteboards, office supplies, paper, books, curriculum, cleaning supplies), as well as pay for staff salaries and student outreaches. We also need to repair the roofs on several of our buildings, and we're estimating a cost of about $4000 in total for this alone.

Children's Breakfast

Every Saturday we give breakfast to needy children in one of the poorest areas of the city of Torreon. We want to build a new kitchen and medical facility to meet the people's physical and spiritual needs. The building will include a kitchen, dining hall, and clinic. The structure alone will cost about $5000; we also need to buy the land, at about $1200, and fully furnish and supply the kitchen and medical center.

Rehab Centers

We want to build two new rehab centers in the next few months, one for men and one for women. We don't have exact costs right now, but we will need to buy or rent property, furnish the facilities, and pay for staff.

*Men’s rehab center: God has blessed Rescate Social, our rehab center in Torreon, and within the next month we will be opening our second men’s rehab center here in San Pedro. The program in the new center will be centered on Biblical teachings and run by Christian ministers from our church. The center will include job skills training to provide the men with practical skills and self-respect. As of now we plan to build a welding workshop overseen by one of our church members and run by the men in the center. Our needs in this area include: money to purchase or rent a building, utilities, furnishings for kitchen, sleeping, and meeting areas. We will also need to purchase equipment for the welding workshop.

*Women’s rehab center: In this area there are very few rehab centers for women, although there is a great need for them. The needs for this center are basically the same as for the men’s center – a building, utilities, furnishings, and a workshop. Instead of a welding shop, we are thinking of opening a bakery or candy store.

An URGENT need for our existing rehab center is money to buy a commercial oven to use in job training for the men. This will cost between $1200-$2000 depending on the oven we purchase.

New Church Building

God has multiplied our congregation and we are short on space. We are currently pricing property on which to build a multi-functional church building to seat around 700 people. The building will include Sunday school classrooms, the main sanctuary, washrooms, and sports facilities. The cost of a building this size will be about $120,000, plus the cost of the land itself. We will also need to buy interior furnishings such as seating and sound equipment.
